I've just installed Windows Vista (was running Windows Home XP) on my machine and am presently running an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ processor. I'm not that shot with Vista but I know there is a learning curve with new software. I'm torn between ordering Windows XP Pro and installing that (My wife has that on her laptop and it seems to handle problems better than Win-Home XP or upgrading my processor and adding Ram Memory (I presently have 1 Gig of Ram). Any ideas, advise, or
suggestions would be appreciated.

If you only have 1 gig you definitely need to either 1) install 2 more gigs of ram or 2) revert to Windows XP Pro. Vista has stability issues (some of them were resolved in SP1) so if you need a solid machine that never hiccups, XP Pro is the way to go (i would still recommend getting an additional gig of ram with xp), but if its just an entertainment machine, Vista does have some additional benefits, this site outlines some of the major ones, but you should have 3 gigs of ram with it: http://anurag-shukla.blogspot.com/2008/07/new-features-in-vista-for-you-all.html
