I was just wondering if you might be able to tell me if there is a way that I can archive all of my E-Mail so that if I lose my hard drive that I can retrieve them all so that I won't lose any of them. I was told that I can do that and when I do that they will all appear in a folder on my computer but so far I have not been able to find that folder where all of my E-Mail is and my contacts are as well. Where would the Outlook Express folder be located? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yes, this is pretty much what I was looking for, but can you please tell me if you didn't do this at all, where the Outlook Express E-Mail would be on your computer if you never ever saved them since they are already downloaded to your computer via your server. Thank you once again!

You can figure out the location by doing the following in OE:
On the Tools menu, click Options.
Click the Maintenance tab, and then click Store Folder.

The icons it shows are for each folder, not each message.

yes. Your best bet, however, is to sign up for a Gmail account and then connect outlook express to gmail via imap, then drag the emails in outlook express from their current folders to the IMAP folder. Make sure you disable the downloading on the current email account in OE or it will duplicate new messages.

You should ask these questions in a new question instead of a comment for an existing question.

Yes, this helped me out a great deal! I was just wondering why it only shows 99 icons (non readable) as I have way more than that. Can you please tell me where the rest of them are? Would these be the ones that I would want to back up if I lose my hard drive to put back into Outlook Express if and when that ever does happen? Thank you once again for helping me out in the situation!

That being said, does that mean that each icon that is the Folder itself mean that every message that was delivered to my computer via my server through Outlook Express will contain each and every message that was sent there through those icons (Folders) which are the Folders I created myself?

Even though they may only show a small amount of MB for all of the icons themselves even with hundreds of messages in each one?

So then that means that this would be the Folder that you speak of that I would use to backup all of the messages for Online Backup and even put on a disc (CDR), that if I restored them from the online backup and a disc (CDR) to that Folder back on the computer, that all of the messages that were originally there would all get transfered back there, if and when I have to re-do my computer from scratch from the recovery discs, that all of the messages would be back there and be back in Outlook Express again where I wouldn't have to re-do all of the Folders again to separate them like I did before as well and in the same Folders that I put them in too as well also?

What is an IMAP folder?

Can you please tell me where the Address Book is with all of my contacts on my computer to back up and save as well.

Can you please tell me where all of my Favorites are on my computer that you add in Internet Explorer manually when browsing the web to back up and save when you want to look at it again.

Can you please tell me where all of the History is on my computer that when browsing the web that you can go back into for the last several days to see what you've looked at.
