Desktop Folder Help!

I was just wondering if you can please tell me where on the computer that the Desktop Folder is that stores all of the icons that are on there and things like pictures and word pad documents would be stored that you have saved and how to get to it. Thank you!

sorry you need to have the username between the two slashes. go to the documents and settings folder then double click your username.

if you are in XP it is stored in c:\documents and settings\<username>\desktop
on vista it is c:\users\<username>\desktop

I was just wondering if I would be able to type in: c:\documents and settings\\desktop in Start/Run or in the address bar as that does not work when I do. Any advice on how to do this?
